Barcelona announced an agreement with Aleksander “Olek” Balcerowski, the 25-year-old, 2.16-meter Polish center. The player has signed a contract through June 30, 2028 and joins from Unicaja Malaga after being released by the Andalusian club.
Balcerowski gives Barça size, mobility and technical skills, with the ability to protect the paint, run the floor, set screens and stretch the court with his three-point shooting. Under ACB regulations, he will count as a homegrown player thanks to his years in Gran Canaria’s youth system.
Despite being only 25, Balcerowski has already won the EuroCup, EuroLeague, Greek League, Basketball Champions League, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and two FIBA Intercontinental Cups with Gran Canaria, Panathinaikos and Unicaja. He lifted the 2024 EuroLeague title with Panathinaikos, while last season with Unicaja he added the BCL and Copa del Rey to his résumé.
