The 2027–2028 EuroLeague season will expand to 24 teams. This will be the competition’s format.
The competition’s shareholder clubs will, of course, be included: Anadolu Efes, ASVEL, Baskonia, Olimpia Milano, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Fenerbahçe, Maccabi, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Real Madrid, and Žalgiris Kaunas.
These teams will become franchises, while CSKA’s status remains to be clarified. They will be joined by seven new franchises; as of now, Red Star, Dubai Basketball, Partizan, Valencia, and Virtus Bologna hold multi-year licenses.
The remaining spots will be allocated through the EuroCup and new wild cards. Looking ahead, the competition is set to expand to 28 teams in the coming seasons.
