The Mystakidis era at PAOK Thessaloniki opens with a genuine blockbuster move on the transfer market. According to reports from Sport24, the Greek club has practically locked up the arrival of Nick Calathes to join coach Andrea Trinchieri’s court. The veteran playmaker has signed a two-year deal worth 900,000 euros per season (1.8 million euros in total), sealing his return to his homeland six years after leaving Panathinaikos in 2020.
Following European stints with Barcelona, Fenerbahçe, Monaco, and Partizan, the point guard brings an astonishing wealth of experience to Thessaloniki, boasting 402 EuroLeague appearances. In those games, he averaged 8.5 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game. With this stellar addition, PAOK is sending a very clear message to the rest of Europe, as they wait to find out which international competition they will be playing in next year.
