Panathinaikos-Valencia, SDNA questions Montero play: “He stepped on the line with both feet”

The ending of Panathinaikos-Valencia continues to spark controversy. According to SDNA, Jean Montero stepped on the sideline with both feet before scoring the basket that made it 77-86 with 1:12 remaining.

The episode came in a game ultimately decided by just three points. On the play, Jerian Grant forced Montero toward the sideline, but no whistle was called and the basket stood.

SDNA described the play as a major officiating mistake at a crucial point of the game, also highlighting Grant’s immediate protests after the possession.
