According to Eurohoops, EuroLeague owners are expected to gather in Lake Como and vote on Tuesday on expanding the competition to 24 teams starting with the 2027-28 season.
There are reportedly 13 candidates for the eight new franchise spots: Crvena Zvezda, Dubai, Hapoel Tel Aviv, London Lions, Napoli Basket, PAOK, Paris, Partizan, Roma Maxima, Valencia, Virtus Bologna, Hapoel Jerusalem and Aris.
The NBA’s proposal for potential cooperation will also be discussed, but it is not expected to be the central topic. Eurohoops reports that neither the NBA nor FIBA will attend the meeting and that the current offer does not appear sufficient for a deal.
