The NBPA publicly criticized the Milwaukee Bucks over the situation involving Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The union suggested the franchise is damaging the league’s integrity by wanting to shut him down for the rest of the season.
According to ESPN, Antetokounmpo refused the team’s request to remain out for the remainder of the year.
In its statement, the NBPA also pointed to the Player Participation Policy, arguing that a healthy and available All-Star should be on the court.
Milwaukee announced last week that Giannis was sidelined by a left knee injury.
The Bucks are currently 11th in the Eastern Conference at 29-42, with their play-in hopes fading.
