Dubai Basketball held on to beat Anadolu Efes Istanbul 80-76, led by Mfiondu Kabengele’s 20 points and McKinley Wright’s 17.
Efes had three players tied as top scorers: Nick Weiler-Babb, Rolands Smits and Rodrigue Beaubois with 12 each.
Dubai secured its second road win of the season and improved to 8-9 in its debut EuroLeague campaign, while Efes fell to 6-11, losing at home for the sixth time in nine games. It was also Pablo Laso’s first home game as Efes head coach.
Dubai trailed by 10 in the third quarter and didn’t hit a single three-pointer until the fourth, when Davis Bertans knocked down three early triples to swing the lead. From there, Wright took over, scoring 10 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter and making the clutch baskets as it went down to the wire.
Wright also handed out a EuroLeague season-high 15 assists, while Kabengele added seven rebounds and Filip Petrusev chipped in 14 points. Efes got balanced scoring, but couldn’t produce the final push late.
