Vassilis Spanoulis shared his thoughts following Greece’s game against Latvia at OAKA, expressing his satisfaction with the team’s effort and play, while underlining the importance of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s presence on the court.
“We moved the ball very well, except for one stretch in the third quarter when we held on to it too long against switches,” Spanoulis said. “Overall, I’m very pleased with our offense and the energy we brought on defense. We stayed focused on our game plan. There are still mistakes to fix, but I’m satisfied.”
On Giannis’ influence, he added: “Of course we’re a different team with Giannis. It’s important to find the right spacing around him, to surround him with shooters, and let him choose when to create or score.”
Spanoulis also emphasized the role of team chemistry: “The key for me is identity, chemistry, and defined roles, especially at the national team level.”
