It’s now official: Andrea Trinchieri is no longer the head coach of Žalgiris Kaunas. The club announced that both parties agreed to part ways after a season and a half that included domestic titles and EuroLeague campaigns.
Trinchieri joined in late 2023, winning the King Mindaugas Cup twice and reclaiming the LKL championship this year. In EuroLeague, Žalgiris placed 14th in 2023-24 and 13th this past season, finishing with a 15–19 record.
Assistant Massimiliano Menetti will also leave. Žalgiris thanked both coaches for their work and stated that the search for a new head coach is now underway.
