Zalgiris Kaunas are reportedly close to signing Marek Blazevic, the 24-year-old Lithuanian center currently playing for Tofas Bursa. The report comes from BasketNews, which notes that the story was first reported by Jonas Leksas of Krepsinis.net, as Zalgiris continues shaping its roster for next season.
Blazevic has stood out this season both in the Basketball Champions League and in the Turkish domestic league. In the BCL he is averaging 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds, leading Tofas in points, rebounds and efficiency, while his Turkish league numbers are also close to 15 points and 7 rebounds per game.
What makes the possible move even more intriguing is his production against EuroLeague-level teams. According to BasketNews, he posted 21-point games against Fenerbahce and Anadolu Efes this season. For Zalgiris, that would mean adding a player with proven form, upside, and previous familiarity with the club.
