Guerschon Yabusele has returned to Europe after his second NBA stint, signing with Panathinaikos ahead of the new season, and he has already shown great excitement about this new chapter of his career in Greece.
“Many people think that returning to Europe is a step backward, but it’s not like that anymore. The level is incredible, I see it as a new chapter” the French big man said on his YouTube channel, where he shares moments from his daily life through the “Summer with the Bear” series.
In the third episode, Yabusele showed footage of his arrival in Greece, from his medical examinations to his first visit to the Telekom Center Athens, while also sharing his first impressions of Panathinaikos and its fans.
“It’s a team that has some of the most passionate fans in the EuroLeague. There were a lot of people at the airport, which was a nice surprise. We took some pictures and exchanged a few words, and that really gave me confirmation that I made the right decision.”
Yabusele then continued: “I will spend the next three years here. It’s going to be crazy here. The fans will be standing throughout the whole game, there will be banners, chants, drums. I’m really looking forward to playing the first game. Panathinaikos’ ambitions are very high. The fans will expect a lot from us and we will give them everything.”
