Anthony Davis will enter the season without agreeing to an extension with the Washington Wizards. The big man is eligible for a four-year maximum deal worth up to $275 million, but both sides have postponed discussions until after the regular season begins.
“AD’s in a great frame of mind, focused and ready to start the season. I expect AD to remind the basketball world who he is,” general manager Will Dawkins said.
According to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, Davis could consider seeking a trade if Washington starts poorly. His health, the team’s results and his fit alongside Trae Young and AJ Dybantsa could therefore shape his long-term future.
