Washington Wizards unlikely to give Anthony Davis a max extension

There is almost no chance the Washington Wizards will give Anthony Davis a maximum contract extension, according to Joshua B. Robbins.

The big man’s future will therefore remain a storyline to monitor as February’s trade deadline approaches, particularly because of the influence of his agent, Rich Paul.

One of the NBA’s most powerful player representatives, Paul has repeatedly shown an ability to secure the deals his high-profile clients want, including with their preferred destinations. Robbins believes Paul has likely already assessed other teams’ interest in Davis and will continue doing so in the coming months, leaving Washington to determine how it wants to handle its star’s future.
