Warriors’ Stephen Curry (leg) expected to miss multiple weeks

Curry's return timeline will be determined in the coming days after MRI reveals partial tears in ligaments and membranes

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has suffered ligament damage in his left leg and is expected to miss some time, the team announced today. An MRI confirmed partial tears to Curry’s superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane as well as a contusion in his lower left leg. His return timeline will be determined in the coming days.

Curry limped to the locker room in the second half of Saturday’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. He did not return as the Warriors held off the Mavericks 119-113.

The injury occurred with 2:01 left in the third quarter when Curry appeared to bang knees with McKinley Wright IV while defending a drive. The Warriors’ star was whistled for a foul and came up favoring his left leg.

Curry, who missed 11 games earlier this season with a left shoulder subluxation, scored 21 points in 26 minutes with six rebounds and seven assists before his latest injury.

NBA.com will have more on this developing story soon.
