Warriors re-sign Gary Payton II to one-year deal

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to re-sign Gary Payton II for the 2026/27 season.

According to Shams Charania, the veteran guard will sign a one-year contract worth approximately $3.9 million.

Payton II averaged 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 15 minutes per game during the 2025/26 season, while posting a positive steals-to-turnover ratio.

Earlier today, the Warriors also officially announced the return of De’Anthony Melton. The guard had agreed to a two-year, $11 million deal with a player option at the start of free agency.
