After helping Fenerbahçe win last season’s treble (EuroLeague, Turkish League and Turkish Cup), Wade Baldwin told Eurohoops what the club’s standards mean: “When you come to Fenerbahçe, you have to believe and understand that you are only competing to make the Final Four and win championships”.
Baldwin highlighted Talen Horton-Tucker’s immediate influence and buy-in: “Talen is simply a hungry player… it’s not easy to be, in a way, kicked out of the NBA at 24 years old, then come and adapt to the European way”. He added: “He is one of a kind in Europe. There’s no one with his ability to attack the basket”.
On Nando De Colo, who rejoined mid-season, Baldwin was blunt about the past: “That’s a guy I wanted to kill… Nando De Colo is a legend”. Now as teammates, he says it’s “a breath of fresh air”, calling De Colo “a tremendous asset” they will “need more than ever throughout the season”.
