The Slovenian Basketball Federation has officially announced that Vlatko Čančar will not participate in EuroBasket 2025, after receiving permission to skip the tournament in order to fully prepare for the upcoming club season.
The forward, who is returning to Europe after his NBA stint, recently signed a multi-year contract with Olimpia Milano and will focus on individual training ahead of the new year.
“Vlatko Čančar has informed head coach Aleksander Sekulić and the national team staff that, after a season in which he spent most of his time recovering from a knee injury, he will unfortunately not be part of the team this summer. After signing a contract with Olimpia Milano, his new team has prepared a specific training program that Čančar will follow in preparation for the new season.”
