Carsen Edwards will not travel to the Principality. After sitting out in Cremona because of a scheduled stop and a high fever, Virtus Bologna will be without its leading scorer for the upcoming road game. The absence was also indirectly confirmed yesterday, when Edwards was announced for a club promotional event but was replaced by Alston.
Without their main scoring option, Virtus lose shot creation and points, but the rotation opens up. Morgan, Edwards’ natural backup, is expected to see a larger role and increased offensive responsibilities.
Alston should also get extra minutes, after a strong start to his Virtus stint, bringing his usual “calling cards” — energy, physicality and two-way impact — as the team looks for production by committee.
