Virtus Bologna signs Davide Casarin to a two-year contract

The Italian combo guard joins the Bianconeri after a breakout season in the LBA and arrives with domestic titles, international experience, and recognition as the 2026 LBA Most Improved Player.

Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna S.p.A. announces that it has reached a two-year agreement with Davide Casarin.

An Italian point guard/shooting guard, Davide is one of the most promising young talents in Italian basketball. His résumé includes an Italian Serie A2 championship with Scaligera Basket Verona in the 2021/22 season, an Italian Cup and an Italian Championship with Reyer Venezia, as well as a bronze medal at the 2019 FIBA Under-16 European Championship in Italy.

During the most recent LBA season with Cremona, Casarin averaged 10.9 points per game and a 12.1 performance index rating, while also receiving the individual honor of Most Improved Player of the Year at the 2026 LBA Awards.

He made his debut with the Italian National Team on February 26, 2023, against Spain, immediately scoring in double figures. His current career high with the Azzurri is 19 points, recorded against Iceland in his fourth appearance for the national team.
