The new season of Virtus Bologna will officially begin on Monday, August 24, with the team’s first practice at Casa Virtus Alfasigma. After the first few days of arrivals and settling in, which included routine medical examinations and getting accustomed to the Porelli Gym, the team will gather on Monday morning under assistant coach Daniele Parente, while head coach Alex Mumbrú is still away with the national team.
The start will be with a reduced roster, as, in addition to the head coach, four Virtus players are currently involved with their respective national teams: Francesco Ferrari and Tommaso Baldasso with Italy, Aliou Diarra with Mali and Bobi Klintman with Sweden.
While waiting for the full roster to be available, practices will be held behind closed doors. Virtus fans will have the chance to enjoy the club’s traditional start-of-season welcome in the first days of September, when coach Mumbrú and the four players involved with their national teams return to Bologna and complete the Virtus Bologna roster. Further information will be announced in the coming days.
