The road game against Reyer Venezia represents an important test for Virtus Bologna.

The road game against Reyer Venezia represents an important test for Virtus Bologna, particularly given the teams’ recent playoff history. As Alessandro Gallo writes in Il Resto del Carlino, the rivalry has intensified following the 2025 quarterfinals, decided by Toko Shengelia, and last season’s semifinal series. For several Virtus players, including captain Daniel Hackett, the game will also be an opportunity to settle unfinished business.

The main talking point ahead of the matchup, however, is the foreign-player rotation. Following the win in Munich, Alex Mumbrù welcomes back Davide Casarin and Francesco Ferrari. Matteo Baiocchi, meanwhile, is unavailable due to a flu-like illness and will be replaced by Marco Milazzo as the sixth Italian player. The coach will therefore have to leave three of his nine foreign players out of the lineup. Kevin Kokila is among the potential exclusions, while the other two spots will require more difficult decisions. One possibility, according to the newspaper, is that Rasheed Bello could be left out again, although the choice is far from straightforward given the performances of the players who featured in the previous game and Marcus Carr’s increasingly established leadership. Another decision will have to be made among the wings and big men.

On the club’s business front, an announcement regarding Costa is also expected soon. The company is set to extend its partnership with Virtus to include the team’s European campaigns.
