Bahamian big man Kai Jones, a 2021 first-round pick, has resurrected his NBA journey after being waived by the Los Angeles Clippers in March 2025. He signed a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks on March 2, 2025. In his debut with Dallas the following day, Jones delivered an impressive performance: 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 block in just one game.
Since joining the Mavericks, he’s emerged as a bright spot in a season plagued by injuries, averaging 14.2 points and 8.6 rebounds.
Previously, his NBA career included stints with the Charlotte Hornets, where he struggled to find his footing and was ultimately released in October 2023 following controversial social media activity and a public trade request.
