Luca Baraldi, CEO of Virtus Segafredo Bologna, spoke to Il Carlino after the team’s victory over Olimpia Milano.

ON THE VALUE OF BEING IN FIRST PLACE

“On Sunday we beat Milano in Milan, then we have already faced Tortona and Venice twice, so our current position in the standings is deserved because we have faced the best teams and if we are alone in first place it means that we have demonstrated something more than the others.”

ON THE EUROLEAGUE LICENCE

“Obtaining it is one of our objectives but we also know that it does not depend only on us. We are doing everything that is in our power and in the coming weeks we will try to turn the contacts we have had in recent months into a dialogue. Even with regard to the new arena, which is an important variable in this situation, we are moving forward with the Fiera and I hope to have positive news soon.”

ON THE DEDICATION TO ZANETTI

“To Dr. Massimo Zanetti, who has shown great affection for Virtus to the point of getting himself disqualified last year for a phrase whose veracity I leave to the judgment of those reading this. I dedicate not only the men’s championship, which is still partial, but also the women’s championship.”
