Victor Wembanyama limiting media access after Finals loss

Victor Wembanyama is reportedly limiting his media availability following San Antonio’s loss in the 2026 NBA Finals.
According to ESPN’s Michael C. Wright, the Spurs star is fully locked in on the new season.

“I’m hearing that Victor does not want to talk about what happened in the Finals,” Wright said on The Hoop Collective. “He’s locked in.” According to Wright, Wembanyama has also largely avoided American media appearances, with 60 Minutes being the notable exception.

Wright added that the loss clearly affected him: “He sincerely believed the Spurs would win.” On the lesson learned, he said: “At that final stage, all it takes is one mistake and a team will punish you. One turnover could be the difference in the ball game.”
