Victor Wembanyama powered the San Antonio Spurs to their first-ever 5-0 start, posting 26 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks in a 107-101 win over the Miami Heat.
Wembanyama dominated defensively in the second half, blocking three shots in the fourth quarter and sealing the victory with his trademark intensity. “It feels great,” he said. “This isn’t random — we earned those five wins.”
Averaging 30.2 points, 14.6 rebounds and 4.8 blocks, the 21-year-old joins Bob McAdoo (1975) as the only player in NBA history to start a season with such numbers. Stephon Castle added 21 points and 8 assists, while Devin Vassell scored 17 as the Spurs extended their perfect run.
