Victor Wembanyama was ruled out for the second half of San Antonio’s win over Philadelphia after suffering the injury in a collision with Paul George during the second quarter. Before exiting, he posted 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks in just over 15 minutes.
After the game, coach Mitch Johnson said he had heard “nothing” yet about the seriousness of the issue. Even without Wembanyama in the second half, the Spurs closed out a 115-102 victory, with Stephon Castle helping lead the way.
Wembanyama’s appearance still counts for postseason award eligibility because he cleared the minimum threshold needed under the NBA exception rule. The focus now shifts to whether the rib injury will affect San Antonio’s final regular-season stretch.
