According to ESPN, the NBA will not issue any further discipline after the flagrant foul 2 that led to Wembanyama’s automatic ejection. The contact came in the second quarter after Reid and Jaden McDaniels trapped the French big man outside the paint.

Following video review, officials ruled the hit to Reid’s jaw and neck area as excessive contact above the neck. Wembanyama’s ejection, with 8:39 left in the second quarter, was the earliest for an All-Star in a playoff game in the play-by-play era.

Minnesota went on to win Game 4, 114-109, tying the Western Conference semifinal series. San Antonio will now have its franchise star back for a crucial Game 5 at home.
