Italian team is now in quarantine after some COVID-19 cases emerged after the trip to Russia.

During an interview with Udinese TV transcribed by BasketItaly, Reyer Venezia coach Walter De Raffaele has said that some of his players, during last week’s game against UNICS Kazan, asked him to get Russian fans in the arena to wear face masks during the game. Venezia is now in isolation after some COVID-19 cases emerged within the team.

“Some of my players, during the game in Kazan, asked me to get fans in the arena to wear face masks. I don’t want to blame anyone, they were allowed to do so because of their country rules. We need to find a solution”, De Raffaele later added, supporting the proposal pushed forward last week by Olimpia Milano coach Ettore Messina to reshuffle the season’s schedule to finish up the domestic leagues first before finishing up continental cups.
