The Serbian star landed in Tel Aviv after signing a three-year deal with Hapoel: “We want to build a dynasty, with trust and hard work.”

Vasilije Micic has officially joined Hapoel Tel Aviv. After signing a three-year, $18 million contract, the 31-year-old Serbian guard arrived in Israel and shared his excitement: “I wanted to start something new, to join a team with a long-term vision. Tel Aviv is a beautiful city, and I’m glad to be here.”

Micic credited Dimitris Itoudis and Ofer Yannay for making the move happen, and praised the team’s growth: “Hapoel is now a solid EuroLeague team. We have a strong roster, and with the right mindset we can build something special.” Regarding the situation in Israel, he calmly added: “I come from a country that’s seen difficult times. If you feel safe here, then I feel safe too.”

After a tough NBA journey with the Thunder, Hornets, Suns and Bucks, Micic returns to Europe where he dominated with Efes, winning two EuroLeague titles and being named MVP in 2021. Now, he’s ready to write a new chapter in red.
