Valencia Basket are in advanced talks to secure a contract extension for Nate Reuvers, who is currently on an expiring deal, BasketNews reports. The sides are said to be close to agreeing on a new multi-year contract.
Reuvers has been Valencia’s highest-scoring big man in EuroLeague play, ranking third on the team in scoring and fourth in PIR. He’s averaging 10.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.7 blocks and 10.6 PIR in under 19 minutes per game, with elite efficiency: 74.4% on two-pointers and 43% from three.
BasketNews notes his statistical profile is “unique”: no other EuroLeague big is shooting 70%+ from two and 40%+ from three while attempting at least 0.5 threes per game. He’s coming off a strong stretch, including 30 points vs Anadolu Efes, 20 vs Hapoel Tel Aviv on consecutive February nights, and 21 in a win over Olympiacos.
In Spain’s Liga Endesa, he’s posting 9.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 17 minutes, shooting 63% from two and 40% from three. Valencia sit inside the EuroLeague top four with seven regular-season rounds remaining, and Reuvers’ Hungarian passport adds roster value in the ACB due to the two-American limit.
