UCAM Murcia have released an official statement regarding the situation with David DeJulius, responding to recent reports from local media.

The Spanish club revealed that on March 6, they reached an agreement with the player to extend his contract through the end of the 2027-28 season.

However, DeJulius later informed the club of his desire not to honor the agreement he had signed. According to Murcia, such a request is not in line with the terms of the contract between the two parties.

Due to the player’s unilateral decision and the potential damage it could cause to the club’s sporting project, UCAM Murcia announced that it has initiated legal proceedings before FIBA and the relevant authorities in order to protect its rights and interests.

The 26-year-old guard from Cincinnati was one of the biggest revelations of the latest ACB season, earning a spot in the All-ACB First Team alongside players such as Jean Montero and Mario Hezonja.

DeJulius averaged 17.7 points and 4.3 assists in 25 minutes per game, shooting 46% from the field, 37% from three-point range and 77% from the free-throw line.

His outstanding season has naturally attracted interest from several important clubs, but any potential suitors will now have to negotiate with UCAM Murcia first.
