Tyler Herro’s absence was felt as the Miami Heat fell 116-107 to the Portland Trail Blazers at the Kaseya Center. Herro, who turned 25 on Monday, was sidelined with groin tightness, marking his first missed game of the season. He leads the team with 24 points per game and has been pivotal in Miami’s offense this year.
“Without Tyler, our overall intentionality wasn’t at its highest level,” said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.
Kel’el Ware led the Blazers with 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Duncan Robinson scored 22 for Miami. Jimmy Butler, returning from suspension, added 13 points, and Bam Adebayo noted the team’s effort despite the loss: “Tyler is a big part of what we do, but we got the ball where we needed to — we just missed shots.”
This defeat marks just the sixth road win of the season for the Trail Blazers.
