Dorsey: “Sloukas at Panathinaikos? Unexpected”

Tyler Dorsey spoke about Kostas Sloukas' decision to sign with Panathinaikos and of Fenerbache's difficulties on the road.

Fenerbahce player Tyler Dorsey gave an interesting interview to the microphones of Amerikanos24. The guard spoke about Kostas Sloukas’ decision to sign with Panathinaikos after being one of Olympiacos’ most representative players and also about the difficulties his team is going through on the road this season. These are his statements.

Dorsey’s words on Sloukas

“It was crazy, obviously the rivalry is huge. It’s unexpected in a way, but in the end it’s business. You have to remember that for us, basketball lasts 10-15 years. So, from a financial point of view, sometimes we have to secure ourselves. And that’s what he did, regardless of who spent that money. I don’t think a player says no to offers like that. We all want to find a home and love in a certain team or city, but like in any league, sometimes you come to the end of a journey and you have to respect the decision of each player who chooses to move on. At the end of the day, he is injured, but he is a good asset for Panathinaikos and he is playing well this season”.

On Fenerbahce’s difficulties on the road

“It’s not only us who have difficulties. If you look at the Euroleague, many teams struggle away from home. We are one of those teams and we have to understand that. Now we will have a break to refresh and regroup. March is the most important month for every team. The playoff race? I think it will be a tug-of-war to stay in the playoffs and try to get home-field advantage. It only takes two wins to move up in the standings. So we think day by day. And of course there are still two months of regular season left. So it’s very important that we get our act together on the road”.
