His sixth appearance in a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game was one to remember for Daryl Macon Jr., who positively shined in leading Panathinaikos OPAP Athens to a resounding 95-69 victory over the defending champion Anadolu Efes Istanbul, earning his first MVP of the Round honor in the process. Macon posted a PIR of 38, the highest of any player in Round 6 and tied for the season’s best, after scoring 34 points on a club-record 9-for-12 three-point shooting. Those were the only 3 shots that Macon missed all night; he made both of his two-point attempts and 3 of 3 free throws, as well. He also collected 4 rebounds and 3 assists in fewer than 26 minutes on the floor. Round 6’s second-best index rating, 29, belonged to Jan Vesely of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, who scored 24 points on 10-for-14 two-point shooting to go with 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in a last-second home loss against FC Barcelona Lassa. Next came Alpha Diallo of AS Monaco, whose 19 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists for a PIR of 28 helped beat visiting Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade by 70-62. Macon’s Panathinaikos teammate Georgios Papagiannis came next with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks against Efes for a PIR of 25. Wrapping up the list was Matt Costello of Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz who had PIR 24 after scoring 18 points and pulling down 9 rebounds in a road loss to UNICS Kazan.
