Tsitsipas plans to watch Giannis in Miami
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s move to the Miami Heat has also caught the attention of Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Speaking to Tennis Channel, the Greek tennis star revealed that he is already planning a trip to Miami with fellow Greek athlete and close friend Emmanouil Karalis to watch Giannis play during next year’s Miami Open.
“I congratulated him, it’s amazing. Karalis and I are very close, and we were talking about how he should come to Miami during the Miami Open. We should go together to watch one of his games, because they’re friends too,” Tsitsipas said.
“I support Giannis wherever he is”
Tsitsipas also explained how much he enjoys following Antetokounmpo and basketball in general.
“Now I just move around and support wherever Giannis is. If Giannis is in Milwaukee, I support Milwaukee. If Giannis is in Miami, the same. I’m a huge basketball fan and I love the culture of the sport.”
The tennis star also revealed that he played plenty of basketball growing up and believes he could have pursued the sport professionally had he not chosen tennis.
“I’ve played a lot of basketball in the past and I would probably say that, if I wasn’t playing tennis, I would have liked to see myself playing professional basketball somewhere.”
