The german team is fifth in the Euroleague standings with 16 wins in 26 games.

Bayern Munich coach Andrea Trinchieri talks after the win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
“Every game from now on will be like this. When you win despite those kinds of mistakes, you should always be happy. Tonight was a really difficult game. I want to congratulate and show my great respect to Coach Sfairopoulos and the whole Maccabi team. They put together a great defensive effort. At a certain moment, it looked like they were dominating both ends of the floor. But I have the luck of having a team that sometimes is unaware of some things is an advantage. Three or four months ago I chose to not try and change my team but to go to the war with them. I don’t have enough practice time and time in general to change too many things. So my team doesn’t want to lose games. I understood from the first quarter that it would be a very difficult game. Sometimes you forget there is an opponent who is very talented and has experience and very good guards. They came here with their back to the wall. That was one of their last chances and they put together one hell of a game. I’m happy that we won the game. I’m happy that we were patient enough to take the game where we wanted it. Tonight there is no negative performance by any Bayern player. They all contributed to the win. At this moment, I don’t care how the game looked. I just care about the result. We fought, we came back, we put together an effort. We had a chance to win in a more comfortable way. We messed a little bit two possessions at the end, but we won the game.”
