Reporting attributed to Sam Amick of The Athletic frames the Toronto Raptors as a serious suitor for Domantas Sabonis, with the Sacramento Kings engaging multiple teams.
The complication is Jakob Poeltl: in a Sabonis deal, Toronto would likely send Poeltl, but Sacramento is said to have no interest in taking on his long-term guaranteed salary, pushing the idea of routing him to a third team.
To match salary, the framework could also require moving one of RJ Barrett or Immanuel Quickley. With so many high-salary pieces involved, the same reporting suggests discussions could be revisited in the offseason.
