Greece beat Montenegro 79-65 in Round 4 of the MundoBasket 2027 qualifiers to move back to first in Group B, led by Vassilis Toliopoulos’ 27 points and 10 assists (plus 5 rebounds). Montenegro got Igor Drobnjak 14 and Dino Radoncic 13, but couldn’t match Greece’s control, as Toliopoulos finished 7-for-13 from three after a 19-point first half (5/6 3PT).
Greece opened with Moraitis, Toliopoulos, Papanikolaou, Choukgaz and Mitoglou and led 22-18 after the first quarter. They grabbed their first double-digit lead in the second (33-23) and went to halftime up 44-35, generating 20 points off Montenegro’s 10 first-half turnovers.
Greece stretched it to 52-35 early in the third before Montenegro cut it to six late (57-53 at the end of the quarter). Toliopoulos then hit his sixth three and assisted Antetokounmpo’s dunk to push it back out, and a late Papanikolaou three made it 77-65 as Greece closed the 79-65 win; next up on July 2 are Romania vs Greece and Montenegro vs Portugal.
