Toko Shengelia will become a Dubai BC player next week. According to Encestando, the club has won the race for the Georgian forward, beating competition from Fenerbahce, Partizan and Olympiacos.
Dubai BC will pay the €900,000 buyout clause to complete the move. Shengelia, who is set to turn 35, reportedly chose the Dubai project with the goal of competing for the Final Four and the EuroLeague title over the next two seasons.
The presence of Xavi Pascual, who coached him in recent months at Barcelona, also played a key role in the decision. For Dubai, this is a major addition in terms of experience, leadership and on-court impact ahead of its EuroLeague campaign.
