TJ Shorts: “Once we figure out how to play together, Panathinaikos will be unstoppable”

The new point guard of Panathinaikos, TJ Shorts, spoke to Club 1908 and, among other things, commented on the immense amount of talent in the team’s backcourt.

TJ Shorts’ words: “Obviously, on paper, you can see what the perimeter looks like… There’s the MVP, Kendrick Nunn. There’s Kostas Sloukas, who has made a name for himself and is a EuroLeague legend. Even Jerian Grant, who continues to excel in Europe and is probably the best perimeter defender in the EuroLeague. You could say that… fitting into this rotation looks very difficult on paper. Obviously, there will be an adjustment period — learning from my teammates. What they like, what I like, how we can play together. But I wouldn’t say there’s pressure because at the end of the day, it’s basketball and we’ll find a way to make it work.

But of course, from the outside, the media, there will be a lot of buzz about how we’re going to make it work, how we’ll fit on the court. But everyone I mentioned in this rotation is a very smart player, with a high IQ, and I think once we figure out how to play together and find the right chemistry, we’ll become an unstoppable force across Europe.”
