Three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion Mac McClung is heading to Europe for the first time in his career after spending the past five seasons primarily in the G League chasing his NBA dream.

Girona has officially announced the signing of the point guard on a one-year contract.

Club sporting director Fernando San Emeterio commented on the move:

“Mac is a player who can operate both as a point guard and a shooting guard. His main strength is his scoring ability; he has been a scorer throughout his entire career. He can create his own shots and score in the paint, from mid-range and also from beyond the three-point line. Another quality we really value is his ability to create for his teammates. Now the challenge is to transfer all this potential to European basketball.”

McClung arrives after a season split between the Windy City Bulls and the Chicago Bulls, in which he was named G League MVP for the second time, averaging 31.8 points, 7.9 assists, 51% from the field, 38% from three-point range and 78% from the free-throw line.
