Thursday, May 29, 2025, will be a pivotal day for the future of the EuroLeague. According to Eurohoops, the clubs will meet to vote on expanding the competition to include 20 teams. This has been under discussion for some time, and the EuroLeague management believes that the time is right for this step. However, the final decision rests with the clubs.
The main clubs vying to join the competition are Valencia and Dubai, while Hapoel Tel Aviv won the EuroCup and has therefore earned the right to participate, taking Alba Berlin’s place. If the competition expands, the format is expected to maintain the round-robin format.
