Terry Rozier is facing a more serious legal situation. Federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of New York intend to file a superseding indictment alleging that the former Miami Heat guard “solicited and accepted a bribe”.
Rozier, who has pleaded not guilty to the original charges, is already part of a federal case involving alleged non-public NBA information being sold to sports gamblers. Prosecutors claim he told a friend he would leave a March 2023 Charlotte Hornets game early.
The new charges are expected to include sports bribery and honest services fraud, with prosecutors arguing Rozier deprived the NBA and the Hornets of his “honest services”. His next court hearing is scheduled for June 10.
