With Valencia leading 88–87, Edy Tavares blocked Jean Montero’s layup before the ball touched the rim. According to rules, the basket should have counted as goaltending.
The issue? None of the referees blew the whistle, so the play couldn’t be reviewed. Those two points would have changed the game’s outcome—and the series dynamic entirely.
