Sylvain Francisco emotionally bids farewell to Zalgiris Kaunas

Sylvain Francisco has announced his departure from Zalgiris Kaunas with an emotional farewell message on social media.

The French point guard is coming off an outstanding EuroLeague season, averaging 16.5 points, 6.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds while shooting nearly 39 percent from three-point range.

Francisco recalled some of his favorite memories in Kaunas, including his buzzer-beater against Rytas Vilnius in the LKL Finals and Zalgiris’ fifth-place finish in the EuroLeague with a playoff berth.

“Zalgiris is one of the best organizations in Europe, and I’m truly grateful to have had the opportunity to wear this jersey,” Francisco wrote.

He closed his message with an emotional line: “This is not goodbye, it’s see you later. Ačiū, Kaunas.”
