In a detailed interview with Politika, Svetislav Pesic reflected on his time leading the Serbian national team and outlined his plans moving forward.
“It has been an honor to coach the Serbian national team and to work with the country’s best players. Taking responsibility and making key decisions while leading Serbia is always a major challenge,” Pesic said.
Looking ahead, he confirmed his intention to remain involved in Serbian basketball: “I want to continue offering my professionalism, expertise, and commitment to President Covic and our basketball community. However, the time has come to appoint a new coach who can carry on the work we started.”
Pesic also pledged full support for his successor: “I promised President Covic that I will do everything possible to assist in the selection of the new coach. Whoever is chosen will have my complete backing, guidance, and the benefit of my experience.”
