Svetislav Pesic returns to Bayern Munich as head coach until season’s end

The Serbian coach takes over the Bayern basketball team through the end of the season, replacing Gordon Herbert

Svetislav Pesic is back in Munich and will lead Bayern as head coach until the end of the season.
He replaces Gordon Herbert, after the German champion agreed on an early separation on Saturday.

Sports director Dragan Tarlac explained the decision: “Svetislav knows Munich, he knows Bayern and both leagues; some of us know him very well, so the adaptation period should be short.”
Under Pesic, FCBB won its first BBL title in 2014, as stated in the text.

Pesic, 76, previously coached Bayern from 2012 to 2016 and the text lists major achievements with national teams and clubs.
He met the squad on Monday afternoon and then addressed the media, with Bayern’s next game being Tuesday’s EuroLeague home matchup vs league leaders Hapoel Tel Aviv at 7:30 p.m. in the SAP Garden.
