The Golden State Warriors have lost six of their last seven, and Wednesday’s 120-99 defeat at the Boston Celtics dropped them to 10th in the West. Steve Kerr spelled it out: “We’re going to be in the play-in. We know that.”
At 33-36 with 13 games left, Kerr said the top-six is “out of the question,” shifting the realistic target to the 8-seed for two cracks at advancing and a guaranteed home play-in game. The Warriors are stuck in the middle: not much threat below, but limited runway to rise.
The main positive sign is Stephen Curry’s progress. He has missed 19 games with a right knee issue, is traveling with the team, and has ramped up on-court work, including light contact in Boston, with internal hope he can be cleared for a scrimmage before the trip ends.
