Steve Kerr to Paris Basketball? The idea started during the 2024 Olympics

Paris Basketball briefly dreamed of having Steve Kerr on its bench. The idea never became a formal negotiation, but it emerged during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, when the Golden State Warriors coach was in France as Team USA head coach.

Paris president David Kahn said Kerr contacted him during the second week of the Olympics after spending a full day walking around Paris with his wife. “He told me they couldn’t stop thinking about how cool it would be to live in this city and, why not, continue his coaching career here once he left the NBA.”

Kahn added that he told Kerr the Paris Basketball coaching job would be there for him if he wanted to take that step. Kerr eventually signed a two-year extension with the Warriors, but did not close the door: “It could always happen in the future.”
