Stephen Curry has accepted a role as assistant general manager for Davidson College’s basketball programs, marking the first time an active U.S. professional athlete has taken on an NCAA administrative position.
In this role, Curry will mentor male and female athletes while working alongside Davidson GM Austin Buntz, a former Under Armour executive. Along with his wife Ayesha Curry and other donors, he will help fund an eight-figure investment in the school’s basketball programs.
Curry played at Davidson from 2006 to 2009, setting NCAA records before being drafted 7th overall by the Warriors in 2009. The four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP also returned to Davidson in 2022 to complete his undergraduate degree.
